Pushpa 2: The Rule’ has continued its extraordinary box office run, entering its second weekend as the highest grossing Indian film of the year.

The Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna film that clocked Day 8 in theatres today, has amassed an estimated total collection of Rs 689.44 crore net in India across all languages. The film, opened to an impressive Rs 164.25 crore on its first day. The first extended weekend saw the film rake in Rs 529 crore net, breaking multiple records. While weekday collections showed a gradual decline—earning Rs 64.45 crore on Monday, Rs 51.55 crore on Tuesday, and Rs 42 crore on Wednesday—Pushpa 2 remains a box office juggernaut.
On Day 8, it added another Rs 2.44 crore net from morning shows alone, with expectations of a significant boost from evening screenings, potentially pushing the day’s total past Rs 40 crore.
In terms of regional contributions, the Hindi-speaking markets lead the charge, followed by Telugu and Tamil. Kannada and Malayalam collections are comparatively lower.
The film has achieved a staggering worldwide collection of Rs 1,062 crore, entering the coveted Rs 1,000 crore club within just six days of release. This milestone makes it the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, surpassing ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ which earned an estimated Rs 1,042.25 crore lifetime collection.
With this feat, all eyes are on whether ‘Pushpa 2’ can surpass Dangal’s Rs 2,070.3 crore lifetime worldwide collection to become the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
‘Pushpa 2’ is now competing with other blockbusters in the Rs 1,000 crore club, including ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ whcih earned Rs 1,788.06 crore, ‘RRR’ which earned Rs 1,230 crore, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ with its earning estimated at Rs 1,215 crore, Jawan’s total of Rs 1,160 crore and Pathaan earning Rs 1,055 crore.
To celebrate the film’s box office success, actress Rashmika Mandanna, who reprises her role as Srivalli in the sequel, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming love and appreciation from fans. Taking to Instagram, she shared pictures of herself in a burnt orange saree with a heartfelt caption, “Thank you for all your love for Pushpa and Srivalli, guys! If you’ve watched it, I hope you enjoyed it, and if you haven’t, please go watch it. Loads of love, my loves!”
With the weekend just around the corner, it remains to be seen if the film can pick up its pace at the box office.
