Diljit Dosanjh breaks his silence on why he wrote ‘Punjab as PANJAB,’ Guru Randhawa shares cryptic posts amid the controversy

With every performance in India, Diljit Dosanjh is creating new legacy, a history. Despite various restrictions imposed on him, the songster continues to entertain his fans with his one after another show. Thus, along with every performance he finds himself embroiled in a new controversy. Now yet again the singer-actor has found himself in the middle of a controversy; however this time it isn’t related to his performance or concert, but a social media post.
Recently, after his performance in Chandigarh, Diljit wrote a beautiful post to express his gratitude. In his post he spelled Punjab as ‘PANJAB’ and soon netizens started trolling him for misspelling the state. Reacting to the trolls, Diljit broke his silence on the matter and mentioned “If in any tweet the flag is left out from being mentioned along with Punjab, then it is a conspiracy… In the Bengaluru tweet also, one place was left out from being mentioned. If Punjab is written as PANJAB, then it is a conspiracy. Whether you write Punjab as PUNJAB or PANJAB, Punjab will remain Punjab.’
He added, “Panj Aab – meaning Five Rivers…Hats off to those who are using a foreign language (English) to push conspiracy theories. In the future, I will write PANJAB in Punjabi, as in Gurumukhi. You guys won’t stop I know. So keep going. How many times do we have to prove that we love India? Do something new or have you been given a task to create conspiracies around me?”

Following the post, Guru Randhawa shared cryptic posts on X. Though he didn’t say anything loud, his post made people wonder if he had written his post addressing the ongoing ‘Punjab vs Panjab’ controversy involving Diljit Dosanjh.
In his first post, Guru simply wrote “Punjab” without any further explanation. Later, in his next post, he urged for unity and wrote, “Let’s unite and support our country. Meri Mitti, mera desh is the world’s best desh. Period.”

Though as aforementioned Guru didn’t take a direct jab, netizens have been reading between the lines.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Diljit is nearing the end of his Dil-Luminati India tour. Earlier he was supposed to end his tour with Guwahati, but now his last concert will be on December 31st in Ludhiana.
