Danica Patrick is still red-hot about a burn she received from a scalding Starbucks drink.
The former NASCAR driver, 42, shared a photo of the gnarly aftermath four days removed from the incident.
“Starbucks Americano burn update,” Patrick wrote via her Instagram Story. The accompanying picture showed a large, peeling burn mark on the outside of her left thigh.
Patrick said the burn was “looking a little better,” and noted she had been using a “silver cream” to help with matters.
Despite the improvements, Patrick still maintained a grudge for the coffee establishment. “And f u Starbucks 🤣🤣.”
Patrick also used an arrow to point to an area down closer to her left knee. “This is a burn too,” she wrote.
The racing star began telling her burn story on Sunday, December 1, sharing a series of photos showing how the injury had progressed.
“Day 1 coffee burn,” Patrick posted via her Instagram Story alongside a picture of her burned left thigh. She added “Starbucks 🖕🏽.”
The first photo showed a distinctive circular mark on Patrick’s thigh, with redness beginning to form.
“Anyone else think their hot water is way the hell to [sic] hot?” Patrick asked followers.
On the third day post-burn, Patrick posted a photo of the burn area with some noticeable scarring beginning to form.
“Day 3,” Patrick captioned the shocking image, which included a meme of Kristen Wiig’s Target Lady character from Saturday Night Live looking on in horror.
She shared one final image of the burn, this one with a large bandage covering the area. “Cute, might delete later,” she wrote.
Patrick will need to tend to her wound from Abu Dhabi, where she flew on Wednesday to cover the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which kicks off practice sessions on Friday, December 6.
Since ending her professional racing career in 2018, Patrick has covered the sport for various television outlets. She currently works for the UK’s Sky Sports, for whom she was on the ground for the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix last month.
“I am now nocturnal after that schedule 🤪 but we had a lot of fun!!!!! @maxverstappen1 is now 4 time champ…. In a row!” Patrick posted via Instagram on November 25, giving a shout-out to driver Max Verstappen, who secured his fourth straight world title with his fourth-place finish at the race.
Patrick made the most of her time in Nevada for the race, jumping out of a plane as part of Sky Sports’ coverage of the event.
“This was a race opener!!! 🛶 🛩️ 🚁 🪂,” she wrote alongside the crazy video via Instagram.
