Jennifer Aniston pays tribute to Matthew Perry on first anniversary of his death

Jennifer Aniston has posted a tribute to Friends co-star Matthew Perry on the first anniversary of his death.

On Instagram, the 55-year-old actress shared a series of images of herself with the late actor.

The post was captioned “1 year” with a bandaged heart and dove emoji.

She also tagged the Matthew Perry Foundation, set up to continue Perry’s work of helping people with addiction.

Last month, a jumper worn by Perry’s character Chandler Bing in an episode of the TV sitcom was sold at auction for $6,500 (£4,900).

The auction was called to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Friends.

Aniston played the role of Rachel Green in the show which ran for 10 years from 1994 to 2004.

Perry was found dead at his home in Los Angeles on 28 October last year.

A medical examiner later ruled that the 54-year-old’s primary cause of death was ketamine.

Earlier this month, a doctor admitted a charge of conspiring to distribute the drug ketamine in connection with Perry’s death.

Speaking to NBC last week, Perry’s mother shared one of her final conversations with her son and said “there was an inevitability” to his death.

“He went through a period, interestingly enough, just before he died, when he was showing me one of his new houses,” said Suzanne Morrison.

“He came up to me and said ‘I love you so much and I’m so happy to be with you now’. It was almost as if it was a premonition or something.”
