Kajol, who ruled the silver screen in the 90s and 2000s, continues to steal hearts through author backed roles, both in movies, and on OTT. Her sister, Tanishaa, who made her debut with Sssshhh… in 2003, wasn’t exactly able to replicate her sister’s success. Did that create a rift between the two? While talking to News18 Showsha, Kajol recently said, “I would say that yes, it did happen at some point, definitely. But we sorted it out. It was momentary. It wasn’t something that worked too much against us. Tanishaa is in the movies and is doing films. So, that was there but it’s not there anymore.”
Earlier, while talking to the publication, Tanishaa was asked about her acting journey, and she could not help but shower love on her sister. She said, “The benchmarks for me is Kajol. She has a massive body of work and I’ve seen her through her journey. I’ve seen the love she gained, her goodwill in the industry and the kind of friendships she made. And I haven’t reached there yet. I don’t have that body of work and I haven’t received those many awards. I want to earn that kind of acclaim. I’ve a lot of respect for her.”
Kajol will next be seen in the thriller Do Patti, along side Kriti Sanon. Talking about it, the actress said, “The trailer of Do Patti pretty much talks about very, very complex characters. They’re all very twisted and not just black or white. And that’s the whole base of the film. The characters are all extremely human and they aren’t perfect.”
Do Patti is produced by Kriti Sanon along with Kanika Dhillon and also sees Kriti in a double role. Kajol plays a cop in the film and Kriti was just elated to have her on board. The trailer had released a few days ago and in a recent interview, Kajol revealed how her children Nysa and Yug Devgn reacted to it. The ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge‘ actress said that for the longest time, her daughter made excuses to not watch the trailer of the film. Here’s why!
“They’ve both seen the trailer of Do Patti and told me they really liked it. They thought it was nice, and I’ve told them they have to watch the film now,” said Kajol during a chat with News18. She further revealed how Nysa made excuses, “My son just nodded, but Nysa said things like, ‘I’m in Switzerland, I’m at university, and I have exams coming up. All I could do was request her to watch it whenever she gets the time.”
She also revealed the reason why her kids are hesitant to see her movies. “It’s because when my character cries, they feel like their mumma is crying for real. Whatever my character does, they think I’m doing it in real life. They can’t separate the two. Watching my performances really affects them. My daughter is studying abroad, so I can’t drag her to watch my films. But I can blackmail my son. That’s how I get them to watch! What to do? I try, but they’re clear that they don’t want to.”
Kriti quipped and pointed out that Kajol isn’t crying in ‘Do Patti’. The actress said, “Yes, I’ll tell them I’m not crying this time. In fact, I’m slapping people! I really hope they’ll watch this one.”
