Pushpa 2 sells over 1 MN tickets; hits Rs 50 CR mark on Day 1

'Pushpa 2 - The Rule' sells over 1 MILLION tickets; Allu Arjun starrer hits Rs 50 crore mark on Day 1 advance booking

The highly anticipated sequel to ‘Pushpa: The Rise‘, Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, is rewriting box office history even before its release.
With still two days to go before the film’s release, the latest reports state that the movie has already sold over 1 million tickets on BookMyShow. With this, the movie has now surpassed previous record holders such as ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’, and ‘K.G.F.: Chapter 2’.
The film, directed by Sukumar which is set for a grand release on December 5, has already amassed Rs 50 crore in advance bookings for opening day, with an estimated Rs 35.58 crore nett collection recorded across Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam markets. The Telugu pre-sales lead with Rs 17.16 crore, followed by Rs 12 crore in Hindi and Rs 1.02 crore in Malayalam, according to Sacnilk. With two days still to go, total pre-sales are poised to soar further.
The success of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ and Allu Arjun’s National Award-winning performance as Pushpa Raj have reportedly fuelled anticipation for this new action-packed sequel. Fans are also eager to see Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil reprise their roles alongside Arjun, with strong performances.
Unlike most other films, both northern and southern markets are seeing record-breaking numbers, with analysts predicting an opening day gross of over Rs 200 crore in India and close to Rs 300 crore globally. Should these figures materialise, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ could finally surpass the opening records set by S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’.
Adding to the film’s momentum at the box office, the Andhra Pradesh government announced a special ticket price hike. Taking to his social media handle, leading man Allu Arjun expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for their support of the Telugu film industry.
‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ continues the tale of power struggles and red sandalwood smuggling introduced in the first part. The film is expected to expand on the gripping narrative that captivated audiences worldwide. Going by box office trends, the film is positioned to not only dominate the domestic box office, but also create waves on the international front. The strong pre-release buzz suggests the film could set new benchmarks for the Indian film industry this year.
