Saif Ali Khan will soon be back in action for ‘Race 4‘, according to veteran producer Ramesh Taurani.
The movie, which is part of the popular ‘Race’ action series, will start filming in 2025. Saif will lead an ensemble cast, and fans can expect another thrilling instalment. In an interview with PTI, Taurani confirmed, “Saif will be back in the Race franchise, and we are excited to have him on board. He did a great job in the first two films. The film will boast an ensemble cast, and we are finalizing the script and cast. We haven’t finalised the director either. We will announce the film officially before we go on floors, most likely next year.”
The ‘Race’ franchise, known for its intense action, glamorous settings, and intricate plots, kicked off in 2008 with Race. The film starred Saif and Akshaye Khanna as two brothers, Ranvir and Rajiv, caught in a complicated web of betrayal and deceit.
The actor returned for the 2013 sequel, ‘Race 2’, which featured John Abraham as the villain. Both movies were commercially successful and received positive reviews. However, the franchise’s third instalment featured an entirely new ensemble led by superstar Salman Khan. Taurani stated that it would be not right to claim that ‘Race 3’ performed well at the box office.
Taurani explained that ‘Race 3’ exceeded the box office performance of the earlier films in the franchise. While the team had anticipated earnings between Rs 200 to Rs 250 crore, the movie still managed to collect over Rs 180 crore.
Taurani noted that the first two ‘Race’ films received good reviews from critics, but the third one did not. However, he said that they are doing everything possible to ensure the fourth part is a success.
The producer shared that there are plans to develop a sequel to the 1998 action thriller ‘Soldier’, featuring Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta. He expressed a desire to create ‘Soldier 2‘, describing it as a promising franchise, and mentioned that they are in the process of developing the script.
